Be Prepared – School Vacations are Coming

School vacations shouldn't be about spending countless hours in front of screens, but for many kids, that's how it is.

ComputerTime is the perfect tool for parents to set limits on their kids computer use and avoid the battles. Whether it's a daily or weekly limit, or restricting use to certain times of the day, ComputerTime ensures kids have time for other activities without you being the enforcer.

Interesting Survey Results

Thanks again to all who participated in our January survey. By listening to you we learned that…

  • 29% allow computers in their children's bedrooms.
  • 90% of parents look over their children's shoulder to see what they are doing on the computer.
  • 84% have more than one computer in their home, with the majority (51%) having two or three.
  • 92% would recommend ComputerTime to a friend.

Through all of the write-in comments, we can tell that you're enthusiastic about how ComputerTime has helped your families. Tell your friends and family about ComputerTime!

iPod Winner Announced

While the snow piles high in upstate New York this winter, Ed Hoover will enjoy shoveling while listening to his new iPod Shuffle. He was the lucky winner from those that took our survey in January. Ed has five teens and, wisely, uses ComputerTime to limit their time, and so he gets a chance on the computer too. Now Ed will need a few more minutes so he can transfer his music from iTunes to his new iPod!

Ed told us, "…like always I will keep passing the word to every family I know about [ComputerTime]." Thanks so much Ed! Be sure to mention ComputerTime to those parents who are outside with their snow shovels while the kids are inside and online!

ComputerTime on Windows Vista

A few weeks ago, Microsoft released their new Windows operating system - Vista. Most people won't see Vista until they purchase a new computer. Those a little more daring have started to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows Vista.

We are hard at work making minor adjustments to ComputerTime to be Vista compatible. A free update of ComputerTime will be available soon. As long as you're on our mailing list, you'll receive an announcement when it is ready. Until then, we recommend you do not use ComputerTime on Vista.
